Ride The Bull 2025

I had forgotten to give a quick chat at the recent meeting so sending out message update. We currently have 5 on board for this years event. This is not PACK sponsored. We have a house on rent at Bridgeside Marina which sleeps 7 people so we have 2 open beds if anyone is interested. Unfortunatly this is not the big house we used to rent so there is not room for more than 7. The tournament is on the 23rd of August and registration usually opens up around June at some point. If we get 7 people on board the house per person would be around $242.00 which covers 4 nights in the house. We arrive on Wed the 20th of August and depart Sunday August 24th. You don't have to come for all those days but if you sign on you would still be responsible for the $242.00 plus registration which is around $70-$80 and whatever else you spend to get there and back home. It we get more than 2 more people there is always hotels or other that someone could rent. If anyone is interested in one of the spots feel free to contact me and I can discuss it with you. Of course the beds would be first come.

Sincerely

Currently trying to gauge interest in this years Ride The Bull 2025 down in Grand Isle, La. You can look on past years events for information (Not 2024). We usually rent a house for this event depending how many attend. This is a One day event but we rent the house for 4 days which is the minimum on many of the houses.
if your interested you can email me or text me 832-228-4026. I will be happy to give you more info. We will have to make a decision on a house and size in the coming month or two so. Please only if your really interested or serious to join us.

Sincerely

End of Year Update

So just a few quick bits of info.

With regard to Covid we have one of our members who is having a rough go of it with the Virus. I don't know which version they have and it's not important. The only thing important is asking that you please if you can keep them in your prayers and well wishes. We hope to see them recover soon and get back out on the water.

We also may have had a possible exposure during the Christmas Party. There is no way for us to know for sure but one of the attendees at the party came down ill a few days after the party and was tested which came out positive. We don't know if his exposure was before, during the party, or after. They had a few rough days but are doing well now. Again do not know which version. Just wanted to update all so they can keep on the lookout if you start to feel ill and think you may have it then please go get checked and tested. Also please update me or one of the other board members so we can keep track. It's a good chance if you have not had any ill feelings by now then you may be in the clear but still be aware of it just in case. There is still a lot of unknown about the new variant.

I won't put out any names on a public forum due to privacy. Just wanted to update all.

With regard to next month's meeting as of right now, it is still going forward but Michael Emshoff and the new board will take over at the beginning of the year and will keep you all updated. Much will be decided by the Sosa Center if they decide to start shutting things down again for a while. At this time that is not the case. If it comes to that Michael can decide if he wishes to cancel or go to Zoom, etc.

Not exactly the last message I was planning to send out before the end of the year but I still hope all had a Merry Christmas and looking forward to a Happy New Year.

Its been a great 2 years as president and have enjoyed my time. I hope I was able to bring some helpful content to the club and keep it going during some crazy times. I had help from many different people so it was not a one-man show but a group effort. It went by really quickly but everyone is in good hands going forward.

Again please be safe, have a Happy New Year.

Signing Off and Tight Lines

Christmas Party

Last update on the party and my last official email as PACK President. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday night in the Auditorium.

This year we did not have the big stash of raffle prizes that we have had in years past. We have about 10 or 12 raffles. There will be a table and we ask that only club members go to get a ticket so they will be eligible for the drawings. Will probably need someone to man the table at first so hopefully we can get a volunteer or two to help out. We, Will, figure out the drawing as the evening gets underway.

Set up and Pick Up will be required so would appreciate it if a few folks would be able to come a little earlier than our 6:30 start time to help set up tables and chairs as well as help pick up and return the place back to normal once we are done. This would be much appreciated.

For beverages, I have unsweetened tea, water, and cokes. Remember we cannot leave food, drinks at the center so if you have stuff leftover at the end of the evening make sure you have a way to carry it out.

Lastly, as we all know the virus, etc is still out there and we are trying not to let it stop life and things we like to do. We will set up a bunch of tables to give folks space but not so much that we are hollering at one and other to make conversation. Masks are not a requirement but if you feel more comfortable wearing one then by all means do so and if you do not wish to wear one ok as well. We do ask though that if you are not feeling well before the party and if the symptoms might be something along the lines of the flu, etc then please think and consider whether you should attend.

See you all Tuesday evening

Blaine Tamplain

Christmas Party

So just sending out a quick email with an update. We are 1 week out from the Christmas Party. We have a few folks signed up for some main dishes, sides, appetizers, and desserts. Still not sure exactly how many are coming but an estimate that I am working with right now is that we have about 20-25 people coming. Could be more but haven't heard from many so no way to get an accurate count

If you plan on coming please let us know. If your plan on bringing something please advise also or add it to the list on the events page. At some point over the weekend have to start making final plans and cover necessary things. Also don't want to have too much or too little.

If you can't make it or don't wish to get out in public just yet that is totally understandable we will certainly miss you and hope to see you in the future.

Hope everyone is safe and getting ready for the Holiday Season

Sincerely
